Some of the best times at these events start with someone walking up and saying, 'I had one like that' or 'My parents had one of those'.  Great to hear other's memories of cars like mine.

Agreed. Contrary to most I also encourage kids to touch mine. I even let them sit in the seat and honk the horn. No better way to foster great memories and interest in the kids.

I agree 100% with kids sitting in mine.  Only rule is that I disconnect the battery first, I have a disconnect on it so it is easy to do.  Had a kid hit the starter pedal once at church and the car jumped.  Not making that mistake again.  (yes I park in gear).

When my oldest was about 5 an older person drove into a parts store with a rat rod.  When he saw my sons face he told him to get in and try it out.  Made my son's day.

I just picked up my 1929 Chevrolet Truck last month and since its not running yet nor been on the road, working out the bugs, it's sitting in the garage.  I have the overhead door open while working on it and low and behold, I hear, in the distance, "My father was born in that year".  I had to stop and go out and chat with that gal.  I was thinking how did she know the age of my truck.  The nose is facing inward.  She told me she seen it being unloaded off the car hauler trailer and she chatted with another neighbor who I have been talking with.

This would be my first experience with someone "stepping forward with interest".  I'm sure it won't be the last!

Great Stories!!!

Anyone else out there with one?  Please post!

@thomas-smith-2  Since my last forum story, I have had my 29 truck on the road.  And when I go to Lowes to pick up some lumber, it takes an additional 45 min to an hour due to other shoppers coming over to look at my truck and talk about it and at times their ownership of antique vehicles.  Each time a shopper mentioned they owned a 30s, 40s or 50s vehicle, after seeing mine they have all commented that they should have never parted with their vehicle.  I'm so amazed of the attraction my truck brings in.
