i have a ‘38 1/2 ton frankentruck. i have three bumpers, 2 came off this truck. i don’t think any are 38 as the don’t match up with the 38 brackets i bought from Chevy of 40s.

there are five holes on all three bumpers. a center hole and two “outside” holes on each side of the center hole. the “outside” two bolt holes on two of the bumpers are roughly 17” on center (both sides). on the other bumper, the two outside holes on the third bumper are 16” on center. this bumper is much more rounded/curved. none match up with the 38 brackets.

i believe the 17” on center are ‘46?  any insight appreciated.

@william-fig I can get you some measurements tomorrow or the next day. I think the front and rear are the same and fit 1938 and 1939 passenger and all trucks except 1-1/2 ton. They have a single recessed "stripe" in the middle, from end to end.

This shows the stock 38 bumper. I can't get any measurements.

@william-fig The single stripe bumper, as seen in Tiny's picture, is 1938 and 1939 only. 1940 was the same except it had two narrower stripes. Interestingly, my 1949 catalog shows one number replacing 1938 through some 1941 models. So they must have had the same bolt spacing. I guess they were cutting costs by not making correct replacements for all years. I didn't follow through to make sure but I'm guessing that it was the 1941 bumper that was available.
