This is my first post so thanks in advance for your assistance. What size wheels originally came on the 1939 1/2 ton Chevolet Truck? Is there a place to buy these wheels with the clips to hold the hubcaps or do I need to keep hunting for originals? I did not see them in the Jim Carter catalog. Thanks
<This should give you the info on wheel size.> I'm not aware of anyone selling exact reproduction wheels. I believe there are sellers of wheels that size but the OEM hubcaps don't fit. Lots of the vendors sell the hubcap clips if you find OEM wheels that are missing some. When I was looking for parts during the restoration of my 38 I would see wheels fairly regularly on ebay. Feel free to post a parts wanted ad in the Classifieds. The link button is at the top of the page.

@black-betty-39 I believe the standard wheel for your 1939 1/2 ton was a 16 X 4. A 15 inch wheel was available. My '39 pickup had the 15s on it when I got it but I like the looks of the 16 better so I plan to make the change.
I have lots of the 16 inch wheels and I would be glad to talk to you about a set for your truck. I do not want to sell the 15 inch wheels.

6.00 X 16" tires were standard on a 1939 half ton but there were several wheel options. 15" artillery that were stock on 3/4 ton. 17" 8 spoke that were standard on One Ton. 18" wire that were used for ground clearance on commercial vehicles. I can't seem to attach photos to this web site.
