@tom-hardy Tom, There is a VCCA Region that is in your area. Do you know anyone who is a member. They would be an excellent resource.

Another resource is the VCCA member roster. It can be searched by VCCA members in good standing to find all the VCCA members in Georgia. The owners of 1936 Chevrolets can also be searched but, be aware not all people list every Chevrolet they own. As an example I only list a few of my Chevys. Also checking with the Technical Advisor might be of help in defining the type of shops that might have the expertise and experience to do the job right.

If I were you I would call Jim Gebhardt in Roswell, GA, you can get him at California Classic Cars most weekdays. Atlanta is an hour away from Atlanta, where are you located?

I am in Lawrenceville but moving soon. I do my own work for the most part but I would normally recommend Calvin Nabors off of Webb Gin in Snellville but it seemed they may be winding down after the son retired. You could call and ask 770-972-5469. They do have a good machine shop run by one of the sons.

Jim will know someone and get you signed up in the VCCA and our region ;).

You might look for a spring and axle shop in your area. They will often have the tools and expertise to repair straight axle cars of our vintage. The vast majority of their work is normally trucks but it's fairly rare, at least around here, for them to turn away work even if it's an antique car.
