My 1929 AC is new to me so there will many questions. I am going to pull the engine. I have a reprint of the old service manual and I am not clear if I should the pull the engine alone or with the transmission attached.

Thanks for your suggestions.

I am not sure about your model but I think it would be much easier to pull engine and transmission as a unit especially if the engine mounts are attached to the bellhousing like my 38.

Thanks for the reply. I thought I had read somewhere else that pulling as a unit was easiest. By next week I should have it out. I am hoping the engine will mount to an ordinary engine stand that bolts on in place of the bell housing.

I had the body off so it was easy to lift the engine and trans out.  1929 coupe.

I hope to make the same pull in my car with the body in place. Same year, but a sedan. Lets hope it goes well.

My body is not off so I found the clearance between the lower frame member for the rear mount and the bottom edge of the firewall was really tight.

But the engine is out and bolted to an engine stand.
