just wanted to follow up on the issues I was having with the shift linkage on my 1941 Master Deluxe.  One of the bushings was dry but tight so we just lubricated it.  The other we replaced with the self adjusting kit I received as NOS from eBay.  Actually my sones did that together while I watched.  Fully lubed all of the moving joints in the linkage.  Now it shifts better than ever.  The shift lever even has no play at all in it now.  What a difference such a little thing can make.

Thanks all for the help.

Really glad that worked and shifts much better.

That's great it was an easy fix. Newer cars are often lubed for the life of the vehicle, and we forget that these older cars got oiled by willing and able service attendants on a regular basis. Now it's up to us to fill that roll.

We lubed and oiled everything when we did the linkage.  Even the hood hinges.  Figured we had the oil can out anyways what is a few more items.
