Decoding the gear ratio of a 1950-1954 differential

I recall that the gear ratio of torque tube differentials can be either 4:11, 3:70 or 3:55 with the 3:55 being the highest ratio. I am told that date-code and gear ratio can distinguished from the stamped letters and numbers found on face of the differential carrier.  I have misplaced a decoding chart that I had stashed in my library some time back. I am hoping someone here can help me find a copy of that chart or steer me towards a source of the missing information. Thanks in advance.
