When I bought my 1941 Special Deluxe, I got a ton of parts including very expensive fog lights and three inoperative radios. One of the items doesn't seem to be a 1941 part and I thought maybe someone could help me identify it. It's obviously a grill guard and in good condition, but for what car? It seems to follow the same theme with the red stripes on it and the shape of the other grill parts. The previous owner said it was an expensive part and I just assumed it was for my 41.
Please help if you know what this part is for.
Jerry,
I'm no expert, but I think the grille guard is an after market item. There were several manufacturers of this type item.

I'm no expert either.
Chevrolet did sell guards as a genuine accessory, but I don't know exactly what theirs looked like.
If Gene were here, I'll bet he could tell us.
