I have had some vapor lock problems in hot weather but now the car has the same problem in 50-60 degree weather. It happens when I have driven for a while and park the car for a few minutes. Then it runs fine for about a mile and starts missing. I let off the gas for a bit and it straightens out. I put some sections of hose around the fuel line but that didn't help. The heat riser seems to be working correctly.
Any suggestions? Thanks, Pete
My experience is "vapor lock" is a symptom of a failing fuel pump.

I had this problem in all weather conditions with a 31 Buick and read many posts here and on the AACA forum looking for ideas. Some suggested using non-ethanol fuel, mixing a small amount of diesel in the tank, wrapping the fuel line to keep it cooler, placing an electric pump by the tank and switch it on when you have a problem. I have greatly improved it by using non-Ethanol and wrapping the fuel line. My pump had been rebuilt. Still in very hot weather and long stop lights I have to use the choke to keep it going or pull over and let it cool. An electric pump is in the future.
I have not ever had the problem with my 31 or 39 Chevrolet. The 39 will load up when stopped after running , stopping, and trying to start it again but it easily clears.
Hopefully you can rebuild your fuel pump as Tiny suggests and it will go away.
The AACA site has some excellent threads you can search for on adding electric pumps for this problem.
