Was the parking brake rod housing (under the dash) keyed to the exterior body color?

@tiny Ok Thanks I had thought mine was that color as the original exterior car color was gray . I am changing it to red which is also the original interior color so I thought perhaps it might be keyed to the exterior color.

It doesn't appear to be so. My car is cream over brown with a beige interior & the bracket is the same semi-gloss/egg shell grayish black. Since it's where most people will never see it, color coordination was probably not a concern.

@tiny Painted this AM with the same gray hammer tone color I used for the heater. Not an exact match but I think it looks pretty good. Now to get it assembled . Well posted photos but could not figure out how to delete photo not wanted.
