Parking brake handle

The brake handle is pinned to the inner rod. I would like to remove the rod and handle . I would appreciate any advice on proceeding.

Had a nice conversation with Bill Dirnberger the 51 TA . With his advise and some research I learned  the stop pin in the shaft can be removed by tapping out from the side opposite the protruding head. Once that is done the shaft with handle can be pulled out from the housing. Now to get it cleaned up and painted and ready to install.
