My 51 Hardtop had a white roof and lower body painted red from a previous owner repaint. The upper front w/s pillar post from cowl to roof was painted roof color. Is this correct or should it be painted lower body color?

The pictures I've found of two tone 51s show the upper A pillar to be the roof color.

@tiny Are you looking at the Belair hardtop AKA Styline Deluixe? as most I have seen show it with the upper post painted. I have seen them (online) both ways. I do know someone with an original paint car but it's a Canadian car so not sure if they were the same as USA made.

@steve-d I just googled 1951 Chevy then clicked Images. All of the non customized two tones I saw were painted that way. My 53 210 is painted that way as well. I'm not an expert, just pointing out what I found.

Tiny I am guessing you did not google " 1951 belair styline deluxe" . which is the 2 door hardtop.  I'll call or Email the tech advisor. For my google search " 1951 chevy belair photo" . If you get the same results as me you should see three hardtops all with the post lower body color. While I am tending to lean that way I would like an verifiable reference source and a photo from google is not that.

By all means check with the tech advisor. That's what they're there for. I understand your trepidation.

@tiny I am awaiting an Email reply . Tried the phone and only got " this mailbox is unavailable". I spoke with the TA about a year ago and like some of us in this hobby he is on the "elder side" so hoping all is well with him.

I talked to the TA a couple of weeks ago and he was old but still functioning.

@chip Well I gave it ten days and still no reply of my Email. I'll give the phone another try but at this point I have pretty well made a decision. Call made and response was " this mailbox is currently unavailable".

Just talked to 51-52 Technical Advisor Bill Dirnberger on his cell phone. During the call his electricity went out so his email will not work until it is restored. If you call home phone it may not be answered if they don't know the number and don't want spam calls.

@chip -Well good to know he is still with us. Now if there is some way to contact him (seeing he is the TA) I would appreciate the info. I can understand not answering the phone due to all the spam but it is easily deleted from voice mail and most automated spam today disconnects prior to recording when the spam call detects the voice mail setting.

His email address and phone number is listed in the G&D magazine and also on the "Rosters" drop down from the blue strip at the top of this page. If you can't see it and are a VCCA member you may need to contact membership services.

@chip He advised the TA is not returning his emails or answering his phone. I can understand the frustration. If Bill is answering his cell phone you could PM his cell number to Steve. A text to his cell that he has emails to check might do the job.

@tiny I just spoke with the Tech Advisor Coordinator to see if a solution can be found-both for now and future needs.

@chip Strange that the Email address is a LINK via OUTLOOK . Stranger still it says the Email is being sent from my wifes email address. No idea why it is listed via a link and not simply listed and the sender could then use whatever service they are using.
