Adjusting 31 steering box

When adjusting the steering box on a 31 roadster, there are 3 adjustments. Is there any order that the adjustments should be made?

Yes First adjust the sector shaft and worm shaft end play then the backlash. I don't think it matters whether you do the sector shaft or worm shaft first but both need to be done before you can adjust the backlash. The procedure is well described in the repair manual. See the questions and answers page at the end of the steering gear chapter VII.
