Installing crank timing gear

I wanted to post a follow up to a post on how to install the crank timing gear.

First of all this gear (newer version) is readily available as GM used it up until the 90's

I made sure to clean up the crank snout and to install new woodruff keys (#9 3/16" x 3/4"). The snout on my crank had a few marks from previous installations of gears that i cleaned up with a small file.

What I did was heat up the new gear with a propane torch and it slid on with a slight tap, no issues.
