I didn’t know they were two separate units. I recently came across a few images of a 1938 heater with the defrost attached. If that is correct, I need a defrost fan. I would use defrost more than the heater were I live. What is the correct fan for a 38?
thank you

@michael-alvarez You might have better luck finding an electrical shop in your area that can rebuild your original. Barring that I would peruse ebay. Also The Filling Station sells universal 6 & 12v heater motors. You might give them a call.

That is not mine. I have one like that but it does not have the attached fan(defrost fan?)I was wondering if I need a defrost fan
The defrost has it's own fan/motor. The heater and defroster are controlled individually. I thought I had a good photo showing the set-up but I'm not able to find it at this time. When/if I find it, I'll post it.

So the setup shown is correct. I need a defrost motor artyavhed to the heater assembly. The defrost will and heater will run through the same duxting going to the windshield?
-the defrost was an option? I have to have one now 🤓
The heater and defroster were both accessories. The defroster blower has two duct exits, one for each side of the windshield. I don't know if the unit you pictured is correct for 1938. Mine looks slightly different. Someone who knows more will have to make that call. I believe the 38 accessory catalog is available for purchase through the vendors. It will have an image of the heater/defroster.
