I think a lot of our old members are relying on this free site to get their questions answered Is there away we can put our website Like ChevyTalk does. Maybe we can get some new members and get some of our old members back. This is what their site advertises. " Chevy enthusiasts. FREE project help since 1999. http://www.chevytalk.com "

I guess I don't understand the question John. What does "put our website" mean?

Tiny what I meant was that it looks like the VCCA has a website on Facebook. It might not be sanctioned officially by the VCCA but it is on there.

That was the confusing thing John. You asked if we could "put our website". As you say there is a VCCA page on FB already. It's not an official part of the club but has agreed to some ground rules that allows them to continue using the VCCA name. I don't spend a lot of time on the FB page but I know it's fairly active. It would be nice of the club members on the site would direct questioners there, here to the forum as part of any answer they give. John, I hope to see you in Wichita in October on the SFT. It should be a good time. (hint, hint, 😀 )

oh I forgot. I do direct some of the people asking questions on Facebook to go to our forums at VCCA. I am on Facebook several times a day and see a lot of post from ChevyTalk.

So I was on this site for quite a number of years but for me now it is easier to just go to Facebook. Since the change over my moniker and password are no longer valid so every time I have to dig out my password booklet. I click on the "remember login" but it doesn't. I suspect it is the same for a number of other members as well. That's how it goes, change is inevitable.

@arthur-p-sell Don't log out when you leave. I've also noticed that this software requires a log-in more frequently than the old. If you're not visiting often it's possible that's the reason you're having to log-in each time. That is a bit of a hassle but your browser should have a setting for it to remember your log-ins. I use Firefox and it does. When a saved log-in is required Firefox drops down a list and all I have to do is click the right one. It fills everything in for me. If you change your password it notices and asks you if you want to update it's list as well. Click Yes and it's all automatic.

When I initially set up my login on this forum I had a few issues but like Tiny now that is all sorted and there doesnt seem to be difference to the old forum. After the initial login issues I dont log out and the "remember me" button works nicely.

On the old system there was a box that kept me logged in until I wanted to log out for awhile. Why don't we have that on this new system. I never want my username or password saved on any website. I have been hacked several times and I don't need more internet problems. Would it be that hard to add that feature? " Keep me Logged in "

@john-schildberg When you sign in there's a Remember Me button. That and the Keep Me Logged In button on the old site do the exact same thing. Both set a "cookie" in your browser that tells the browser you're already logged in. If you don't select the Remember Me button you'll have to log in every visit.
