Looks like it is in pretty good shape! 😉
The radiator shell is from 1927 because of the little downward pointing 'widow's peak' under the emblem.
There should be a Car Number plate attached to the side of the seat base, on the passenger's side. The info on that plate will help identify the car.
Also, you can check the casting date of the engine. It is located in the middle of the block on the passenger side. The date has the following three components:
- The first component of the date is a letter that signifies the month the casting was made. A=Jan, B=Feb, etc.
- The second (middle)component is the day of the month it was cast. This will be a number between 1 and 31
- The last component of the date is a single number that indicates the year the casting was made. 0=1920, 1=1921, etc.
If you can find the above info, that will help a lot. Also, post some more photos (engine compartment, dash, rear axle housing)
Another clue is the rear light can. The shape looks like it needs a light rim that fits 1925-1930 cars. Here's a link of the new one sold by the Filling Station: Aluminum Rear Light Rim
Keep us posted. Great project!

@rustoholic @john-schildberg Dean, I think you reversed a couple of features on the casting date info. I think the letter indicating the month comes first. Then the day of the month followed by the single digit for the year. Example A 17 7 would be January 17th 1927. This is the way they appear on 6 cylinder era engines and other parts.

@35mike, you are correct. I had the first to parts of the casting dates reversed. I corrected them in my post above. Thanks!
@john-schildberg, thanks for posting the engine pics. The engine is definitely from '26 or '27. The clues are:
- The rocker arm cover. These covers were introduced in 1925. In '25, it was two small covers. In '26 and '27, it was like the one in your pics. '28 had a long one too, but there was a spark plug wire conduit that went under it.
- The distributor is in the middle of the block. That position started in '26.
- The generator is on the driver's side of the engine. That started in '26 also.

So that tells me that the engine was changed at sometime. There are several engine laying around the shed too. maybe I will find the right one.
