Hello, I am new to this form of communication. So please bare with me. I have a 1954 1500 truck cab that has a split seat in it. See attached. Would this have been original to a 1954 or has then been taken out of a Suburban or something similar?

I do not think it is original.
I can't answer specifically for your pickup but they look very much like the seats that were in a 55 first series panel truck I once owned.

@tiny It is original. It is called either ride control or unison seat. It was a 54 55 1st series and only in Chevrolet. I think it was supposed to be standard in COE. A pretty rare and neat piece.
