Running Board brackets. Are 1936 & 1940 the same?

I have a 1936 chevy 1/2 ton truck with some slightly bent running board brackets. A gentleman has a 1940 gmc 1/2 ton truck chassis with straight brackets that he is going to scrap. Can anyone tell me if they are exactly the same or are they different?  Would I be able to use them on my 36 chevy is what I'm wondering.

Thank you in advance

I don't know if they will interchange, but I suggest you grab those straight brackets.

Then, take one and line it up next to yours to see if they are the same. If not, you have a complete set of 1940 GMC 1/2 ton brackets to sell or trade.

@rustoholic yea I totally agree, but I'm trying to avoid paying the man, just to find out they are wrong, and sit on them for a while just to re sell them. That's all

If you are sure you are going to replace yours, I suggest you cut the rivets off one of them and take it over to the scrap chassis so you can compare it with the brackets on that chassis.
