Went through and changed all the brakes. Adjusted and everything works and stops. The Parking break is giving me fits. The left side cable goes way loose after stepping on the brakes. Took off the left rear hub and took off the spring. Reset everything and re-hooked the parking brake. Cable was again tight (with about 1/2" to 3/4" sag). After around the block, the cable was loose again. Everything worked fine before new shoes. any advice would be a big help. Thanks in advance... Jeff

When I step on the brake the round vertical rod falls off of the vertical part.Brake

I need a new "Cam" type bolt that holds the parking brake vertical part on. It is a 3/8" bolt, about 1-3/4" long. One side of the bolt needs a 7/8" wrench and the other needs a 9/16". On the 9/16" end there is a screwdriver notch cut in that allows you to turn the cam to move the vertical part. Moving this will "tighten" the round vertical rod.

OK... Here is what I did. The original bolt is in the first picture. The top 1/4" of the bolt has a screwdriver slot in it. The slot is for adjusting the "cam". The top 1/4" of the bolt I have was broken off. No more screwdriver slot. What I did (2nd picture) is flatten the broken part off and with a dremel tool I cut a new screwdriver slot in the top of what was left. I then adjusted the "cam" and tightened it with a thru socket while holding it in place with a screwdriver. I could still use the original bolt.
