Firstly welcome back Charlie.

I agree with staying with the fibre cam gear, they are much quieter than metal copies. Oil supply to the gear is the most important item in the decision to reuse or replace, good oil supply and lack of visible wear on the gear I would be reusing but any doubt a replacement would be advised.

My 216 had 89k original miles when I had the motor rebuilt. Original fiber cam gear looked brand new. I left it in and she’s running quiet and smooth.
