Is it possible for a mechanical fuel pump to draw in oil from ???? & make engine smoke? Sounds crazy but after I installed new one engine smokes, coincidence? Thanks

I dont know of any connection between oil and fuel inside the pump unless the diaphram has a hole but that would put fuel into the sump not oil into the fuel.

@macbubba

What color and type of smoke?

Oil will be bluish.

Too much gasoline (too rich) will be blackish gray and smell different.

If your new fuel pump produces significantly higher pressure than the old one, it will raise the fuel level in the carburetor, giving an over rich fuel mixture.

@macbubba if only at initial start possibley valve stem seals or worn valve guides but if after running you could well be right.
