hey everyone, has anyone ever replaced their wood in the doors on these 1935 Chevrolet Master Deluxe? I've called classic wood and kc wood. KC said he's so backed up he can't help and Classic Wood says they're so backed up your order will take anywhere from six months to a year.
Seeing you have not had any replies I'll share my experience with my 32. Usually when I do that it stimulates some activity. I made the wood for one door on my 32- the RH Front. Getting the wood out was not too difficult however some pieces had to be cut to reduce the prying on the sheet metal. Another VCCA member did the re-assembly and prying of the sheet metal was necessary to install the wood. I was planning on making the wood pieces myself but the person doing the assembly thought it would be quicker by ordering from a supplier so that is how we proceeded. It was close to a year before the wood arrived so my thoughts are that 6-12 months is not a bad time frame . Being an amateur woodworker it took me close to two weeks to make the wood working nights and weekends. I do have a few more tools than the average homeowner however a well equipped shop with experience and patterns could probably do a door in a day or two.
