My 1948 Chevrolet Fleetmaster Woodie has one sun visor that is a little loose and hangs down. Is there any way to tighten it up?

The corner of the visor where the support rod enters should have a screw. Tighten that screw a bit. It's a friction fit. There are only a number of times you can tighten that connection until the screw bottoms out. If it's at it's limit, there are ways to build it up and restore the functionality but I've not personally done it.

The screw is bottomed out. Does anyone know how to build up and restore the functionality of the friction fit as Tiny suggested?
The first thing I would try is to disassemble the visor and see if the construction allows a way to build up the friction area. Add some solder or knurl the shaft maybe? I've not had one apart. If you post some photos once you get it apart it might help us.

I do not know if this will work on the older cars. On a Firebird I had the visor would not stay up. I cut a stiff piece of wire and drove it in along the shaft it was mounted on. This took up enough slack to allow it to stay in place.

you could also try putting a small washer under the screw head.
