Hi,
I have a 1933 Chevrolet Eagle 4 door sedan. I'm trying to find the original colors of the car.
Currently it has black fenders, a dark olive/brown hood, roof, doors and rear of body. (ugly). And body stripe of a dark yellow in some areas and black in others. Also has wire wheels painted white.
I feel certain the ugly brown is original as the firewall, door jambs etc, are very aged looking. Also believe the yellow portions of the stripe are original.
The dash panel is black and I think original.
The ID plate is as follows. Job 33-559 Body T-9408 Trim 25 Paint# 1-32
I've have a Duco color chart from TFS, but nothing seems to match.
Thanks in advance and any help will be appreciated.
Also looking to buy a 6 volt trumpet style horn if anyone can help.
Thanks again Doug
Hi Doug
From what I can find, it looks like your car was originally black, with a gold belt line, and either red or black wheels.
And it had mohair upholstery.
I gather this from this old VCCA post regarding trim code #25:
https://vccachat.org/ubbthreads.php/topics/24079/33-chevy-trim-code.html
and this AACA post (which says the information comes from a VCCA post) regarding paint code #132:
https://forums.aaca.org/topic/139805-1933-chevrolet-master-eagle-vinid-number-meanings/
PS
The trim code in the first post reference comes from Chev Nut (Gene Schneider) who was a wealth of accurate information on the old VCCA site.
And given the reference to the VCCA in the second post reference, I'd be willing to bet Gene was the source of that information too.
