[Solved] 1948 Fleetmaster Woodie Tailgate Chain Repair

My 1948 Fleetmaster Woodie tailgate chain loop on the tailgate bracket has come loose. It almost appears that they were glued in. Any ideas on the best way to repair them?  Thoughts on using JB Weld or Gorilla Glue?

I talked with JB Weld and they advised that I have the chain loop welded as the JB Weld might not hold

I would recommend welding as well glue only works with some plastic, the worst part is that welding will damage the chrome.
