I am restoring my Grandfathers 47 Chevy Styleside Businessmans Coupe. I closed the hood earlier this week and tried to open it again today but I can't get it open by pulling on the release inside the car - the release will not move now with a reasonable force put on it. I have not had this problem before. The secondary release under the hood that you move to actually release the hood moves OK. Any suggestions on how I can get it open? Thanks for the help.
The following technique sometimes works. With someone inside the car pulling on the release cable, have a second person outside forcing the hood up and down in a bouncing motion and see if pops open. If not, there are a few discussions on the old forum that you can refer to including a homemade tool if the cable breaks. Once you get it open, lubricate the latch where the spring loaded plunger on the hood goes through it. Mike
