Hello, can anyone suggest a car transporter company that will transport my 41 Chev from Pt. Dover, On., Canada to Medina, Ohio, USA? I have a person interested in buying but would like to secure the cost of shipping. Thank you.

Welcome John. Hopefully someone will be along soon who can give you a recommendation based on person experience. In the meantime there are a number of transporters that advertise in Hemming's Motor News.

Vehicle transport is a quagmire. With the exception of a few mom & pop operations you will be talking to a broker that will arrange the transportation with the actual transporter. There are extremely competent companies that have been in the business for decades and others with a trailer and a truck that are trying to just get your money. They might be legit and capable or not. Beware!
The fact that the vehicle in question is in Canada with destination in USA complicates the situation. Not all potential transporters will have the proper permits to do the job legally. I suggest contacting one of the major companies that have been in the business for decades. Those will advertise in Hemmings or other hobby publications. They likely will be a bit more expensive that many others.

Hi John
When I had my truck shipped from the US to Canada 5 years ago, I used TFX International.
It wasn't cheap, even then, but I had the choice of open or fully enclosed trailer transport and I chose enclosed.
They asked for a copy of the title, dimensions of the vehicle, pick-up location, delivery location etc, etc, but then they did ALL of the cross-border stuff.
I don't remember exactly how long it took, but it wasn't long, and they unloaded the truck on the street right in front of our house.
