1941 Master Deluxe original 216 and tranny.
We just replaced the clutch and finally got the transmission back into the car. We had to lift the tail of the tranny about 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch. Is it normal for it to sag this much and to have to jack it up to get the mount in? I suspect it is normal but want to make sure. When the car was running we did not have issues with engine movement but if there is a repair in this area now is the time for use to do it before driving season comes.

There is a fairly detailed procedure in the shop manual for checking and adjusting the engine mounts. It’s important that the mounts on the sides of the bell housing have a slight clearance (about 1/16”) with the bolts removed since their purpose is to prevent the engine/transmission assembly from rocking.
On further inspection we are replacing the motor mounts. The rubber on the passenger side one has expired and is now goo. Will be ordering a set from the Filling station.
