1940 Sedan Shock Absorber Link Arms

I have 4 link arms (from lever arm on the shock absorber to the axle bracket) for my 1940 Standard sedan, two front and two rear they are different lengths but as they were not on the car when I got it, I am not sure where they go - is it long at the rear with the shorter ones to the front or the other way around. Overall lengths are long - approx 11" and shorter ones 10 1/8" Can anybody help?
