Tiny, have asked the rebuilder to comment on the difference between the 710 and 714 he sells both kits, aint out of the woods yet. Thanks Tiny, Ken
Good news !! Starts and runs like a new car. New battery, cables, floor switch, starter no more problems. Did go with a 8 volt battery , 6 volt was slow, I am thinking that the rebuild is tight. But hey ! its new and starts immediately purrs like a kitten I am very happy. I can jump in it and visit the club for a nightcap and head home, not even a mile, gonna take a long time to put some wear on this car. Thanks all.
Also got 8 volt battery in my 1923 Studebaker Big Six, came that way never thought about it
If the charging system is healthy an 8v isn't necessary but each to their own. You should probably set the charge voltage up a bit on your regulator or the battery will never be fully charged. A 6v battery charges at ~7.5 volts.

Tiny, my 4 door 27 sedan would crank start easily, The 27 black Touring engine rebuilt by a senior AACA member at Georgia facility I was told. He told me to get an 8 volt for it when I bought it, I was told some machine shops have equipment that rotates crank etc for a while to break in before it leaves shop, you will not hand crank this one, It runs great, the senior AACA rebuilder installed everything new and 6 did not operate as it should, I also installed all new same result, Had to buy the 8 volt 2 days ago now gotta make battery tray larger, wish it was not the case but I do like the thought of having a tight engine. Also had to buy 8 volt charger and 8 volt trickle charger, I only drive them sometimes once a year, bad boy there, need some youthful energy, you got some extra, When I hit that starter button got a big smile on my face, drove it to the club last night, one nightcap does it for me. Thank you for ypur help.
