Is there a way to add a link to the old forum at the top of each section as a sticky?

Is there a way to add a sticky at the top of each forum section with a link to its equivalent in the old one?  Kind of an easy way to quickly access stored information on the topic.  A visit the archive link 🙂

Not a direct link to the equivalent forum but if you hover over the Forum button at the top of the page there's a link to the old forum main page.

I get what you're requesting, but I want to ween people off the old forums. Doing this would hinder that goal.

How about moving a post?  I had started a build thread for my truck on the old site (though I hadn't updated it now for a while) and would like to add to that.  Is cutting and pasting that info to a new build thread here possible?

You are certainly encouraged to try. The UBB Threads software of the old forum is so old nothing will directly migrate to any new software so it was impossible to just bring everything over directly. I believe copy & paste will work but have not tried it. Another option is to put a link to your original thread in your thread here then just continue it. Option two isn't recommended because eventually the link will break when the old software breaks and isn't fixable. UBB Threads is no longer supported and updated. It will eventually die.

You can absolutely copy/paste posts from the old to the new forum.  You'll need to download the photos, then upload them again if there are photos.  Dont link to the photos directly.

I had asked on the old forum where people thought the best place for a build thread was, and I guess I will ask again?  I had it in the 1928 section.  Would a better place perhaps be in "what did you do with your vehicle today" section?

There is a 'What did you do with your vehicle today?' forum on this site too.  It is just under the Events forum. Here's a link to it: https://vcca.org/community/what-did-you-do-with-your-vehicle-today/
