1960 Chevy Impala

My Dad tells a lot of stories about racing this car as a teenager in St. Louis on a newly constructed part of I270 that wasn’t in use back in the early 60s.  I’m looking for primarily the 1960 Chevy Impala body, but the perfect fit would include the 348 Tri-Power, 4-speed manual transmission.   I can live with 2 door or 4 door and would prefere a convertible. But hey, I’ll take it as close as I can get it.

Now this is where the story gets a bit interesting.  He says it was a 1960 and it had the checkered flag in the grill and steering wheel logos.  But according to my research, that is the SS option, which did not originate until 1961 model year which also significantly changed the body style.

So I’m looking for a project car that needs some work but has a body that’s in decent shape.  I don’t like body work.  🙂
