1958 Chevrolet Biscayne

Introducing Maxine. Here is a unique opportunity to acquire an original unrestored 1958 Chevrolet Biscayne. It has 36,900 original miles. Always garaged.  She’s had four owners: the elderly original owner who drove it very little, a friend of my grandfather, my grandmother, and finally me. I became the caretaker in 1998. Grandpa bought the car for Grandma in 1974.  I have been personally acquainted with Maxine for 50 years. Maxine has provenance and a detailed history, so the new caretaker will know exactly what they are acquiring.

Maxine has the original inline six cylinder engine and interior. The upholstery, door panels, headliner, and carpeting have never been replaced. The dash has never been restored. Nothing has been restored on this car, and it still looks beautiful. My grandparents never had the car painted, but I don’t know if it was repainted before they acquired it in ’74. The car runs and drives beautifully. I had the brakes rebuilt in September, 2023. It also has a new battery. The original tube radio still works. It’s a 66 year old unrestored car, so obviously it’s not perfect. It has patina, which is to be expected. The most obvious sign of age is the headliner, but other than that, it’s a real head-turner, and Maxine gets loads of positive attention. So many admirers who meet Maxine have a story about their own experiences with a 1958 Chevy when they were younger. Everyone loves Maxine, and I love driving her, but it’s time to allow another caretaker to cherish and appreciate this remarkable and very special time capsule. Asking 31,500.
