“Thomas” was adopted by us on May 06, 2023. He had formally been a project of Chip Sweet and Bill Bradford. Thomas was built in Oakland, California and was purchased by the Vallejo Volunteer Fire Department. It was originally a chemical pumper (sodium bicarbonate) and later converted to a hose truck. Chip and Bill acquired the truck in 1998 and started gathering parts for the rebuild. Today the truck is back in service with 120 gallons of water, pressurized with air instead of chemicals.
