Have you ever seen one of these? Made in the 1940s
and 1950s.




Thinking about putting it on Ebay. I guess it could be mounted on the wall as an eyecatcher.

The idea was that the cars were so slow and the roads so bad ,that you need a peek at whats coming in BOTH directions before you try to pass. You could get hung out,as they say in NASCAR...grin

Never seen on in person but I don't believe they were intended to allow the driver to see in both directions at once. My understanding is they were intended to be adjusted to where the driver could see past a vehicle in front of him while staying in his own lane. The two mirrors were adjusted so that the image in the forward facing mirror reflected in the rearward mirror and into the driver's eyes. I didn't know you had one of those. You'll get big bucks for it on ebay. I'd like to own one but can't afford what it's worth.

I've seen them sell for north of $200 in pitted condition. It would be neat to have but not that neat. laugh
