I finally finished going through a large assortment of Delco parts I came upon a few weeks ago. 99% of the stuff is Caddy and B.O.P. stuff, most the Chevy stuff was picked over before I got to it. There is a distributor part number 1111530, none of my books go past 1940, any ideas? My Buick buddy swears it is for a four cylinder Chevy...... (I think he is guessing) Any help would be appreciated,

The number looks like its from the early '40's.
How many lobes are on the point cam?..4-6 or 8
Does it have a turn-down grease cup on the lower part of the housing.
Is the plate fixed or movable?

Yes it has the fixed grease cup, stationary plate, four point cam, with a four cylinder distributor cap. I think it could be industrial then?

It could be from a 4 cylinder Red Seal Contintental industrial engine. They are common on welders, generators and compressors we can still get parts for them out here in the farming and ranching area at local parts stores. They are very close if not the same as the ones on the 28 Chevrolets.

Around here it would have been marine applications, so pretty much looks like this one is junk! It is a shame it looks to be brand new. The reason I am thinking auto is all of the other distributors were auto and they are new, 42-48 Olds, 38-39 Pontiac
