Pump Jockey if you want to use the 74 alternator it's a simple conversion. Take the field wire to the old regulator and splice a wire from it to the "F" terminal (brown wire) on the new generator.This wire is hooked in series to the generator light on your dash board. This will power the generator fields. The B+ terminal is connected to the alternator output terminal that goes back to the battery. That's all there is to it.
