New to this forum (as of ten minutes ago) and have a 1948 suburban. I know it's probably here somewhere, but where do I find information about what needs to be done to switch her from 6v to 12 volts?

Hi angus49,
First things first. Welcome aboard.
Now to the reality. This forum is basically oriented toward the RESTORATION of Chevrolet vehicles.
Suggest you do a 'search' on the forum on the subject of 6-12 volt conversions. I think you will find an overwhelming recommendation to leave it 6-volt and fix the problem if there is one.

Angus, There are many good VCCA members in the Houston area. Some can advise you on the value of retaining the 6 volt system or converting if you are convinced that is what you want to do. If you are interested in joining let any of us know. We had our monthly meeting last Saturday in Greatwood, just down the road from you.
