Hey everyone

I've got a 1938 Chevy 1/2 ton. The body tag is long gone. The truck title has the numbers off the engine block. I looked up those numbers and from what I can tell it is a block from a 1938 truck.

I would like to obtain the actual body tag numbers for my vehicle. Is there a way to match up a body serial number with the engine block number? The truck had no old license plate or any other known ID. There was no title when I bought it and it was in a junk yard so no prior owners are known.

There is no known way to match the serial number with the engine number.In 1938 most states used the engine number for registration so that part of the puzzle is OK.The serial number was not used for registration.
