Okay dudes, here is the registration form and all of the information needed for the annual 2005 Junkyard Dog Adventure. You can download all of the information as a packet, including the registration form. There is no charge for registration since all of the tours and activities are free. However, there is a $5 prepayment to cover the cost of food for a special luncheon on the Saturday tour (see packet information). Fill out the registration form and mail it along with your $5 prepayment via snail mail to the address shown on the form by July 15th, 2005. On the map for the meet motel at the North Medford interchange, the Interstate 5 Interchange in that area is currently being reconstructed, so there may be some changes on how to get to the motel by August. At the present time the attached map is current. Note that we have 12 rooms set aside at the meet motel with double occupancy since most of you like to share rooms to save expenses. Also, note that the MAIN TOUR will be held on Sunday this year, which is the annual Friendship Meet Car Show sponsored by the Contemporary Autos of Southern Oregon (a region of the CHVA). Usually around 300 cars attend this annual event and it is best car show held in the area. And, it is free too! On Thursday thru Saturday the tour headquarters will once again be at Mrs. Q's Restaurant in Medford. All tours will originate from that location each morning. However, on Sunday we will all meet at the Wood House parking area on Highway 62, just north of Eagle Point, Oregon (see map) for the tour to Lost Creek Lake for the all-day car show and festivities. For those of you who will be heading north to go home after the car show on Sunday afternoon, you do not have to back track to Central Point, Oregon to pick up Interstate 5. Upon leaving the entrance to Lost Creek Lake, just turn left onto Highway 62 and head north to the Diamond Lake turnoff, which is Highway 230. Then take Highway 138 at Diamond Lake and head west to Roseburg, Oregon and you can pickup Interstate 5 at that location. If you have any questions you can contact the mutt at: (541) 826-2177, or email at: JunkYardDog ccountry We are looking forward to seeing all of you dudes again this year, along with a couple of newcomers from California and Australia as well! To View: Page 1 - Tour Information Page 2 - Maps to Locations Page 3 - Tour Schedule Page 4 - Registration Form -------------------------------------------- To Download: Click on links below. Another browser will automatically open. As soon as it loads the pdf file, just hit print! If you have any problems downloading the files, let me know and I will e-mail you a copy. The pages will take a while to download so be patient. Tour Information Maps to Locations Tour Schedule Registration Form

JunkYardDog I agree with 42bill, great work on the forms but I will bet that was not the hardest part of putting this tour together. I have paid for my flight so now only need to arrange the accomadation for the tour and a couple of days extra. Tony

Day two was a very busy and a very interesting day! On our first stop we visited the facility known as "Randy's Rods". Randy is a nationally well-known professional street rod builder and his creations are top quality. He has also competed with Chip Foose at the Detroit Autorama, which is the premier street rod show in the nation. The second stop was unbelievable. We checked out the shop of a local car nut and his home shop was state of the art. Every mechanics tool and piece of shop equipment known to man was in place in his fabulous shop. Then, he gave us all (some 40 dudes) a tour of his home which was filled with antiques of all kinds. His game room was the kind that you would kill for. It contained jukeboxes, a pinball machine, gas pumps, neon signs, music boxes, vintage slot machines and etc. The rest of his home was breathtaking with all of the high-dollar antiques that were in place, and all were in daily use as well. After lunch we visited Bob Drake's, the F0RD dude. He personally gave us a seminar on how his various products are made. After the seminar he gave all of us a personal tour of his huge complex, including the machine and mold shop. This place was also a hit with everyone. Then, we made a quick stop to a privately owned vintage wrecking yard that contained cars from the 40's, 50's and 60's. The cars have been at this one location for years and they were overgrown with trees and brush...it was great! Our last stop was a the JunkYardDog World Headquarters for a hosted barbecue. Approx. 45 people attended this event, and barbecued hamburgers, chicken and hot dogs (did someone day "dogs"?) were served with all of the trimmings. Also available was ice cold tap beer and over 5 gallons of beer disappeared within the first 45 minutes!

Well, almost! On our first stop at a private residence this morning in Wimer, Oregon, we found a really cool 1953 (I mean a '54) Chevrolet mild custom and it was for sale. 42bill was all over that car and he was interested in possibly making an offer on the vehicle. Couldn't pull him away from it! Also, at this location there was a mini swap meet as well, and several of the dudes (including the dog) purchased some rare goodies to take home. We all so visited Larson Engineering in Jacksonville, Oregon, were hand built "cars of the future" are created in a small, non-de script work shop. Talk about awesome......these cars are the "cat's meow". One of the cars on display has made all of the show circuits and it is valued at around two million dollars. After lunch at a private vintage cafe located in an old Victorian house, the Junkyard Dogs and their puppies were on the road again. We checked out all kinds of cars and on one of the stops we visited the "Mystery Car Collection". Termed that because no one in history has ever been allowed to see the cars and it was a mystery as to what cars were in the collection. We were the first allowed to visit the collection and there were a ton of vintage Chevrolets and Cadillacs, including many convertibles, some 70 in all, sitting in an open air shed. It was quite a site! After pizza and beer, the puppies went over to the home of Harley Dude Joe to see his vintage motorcycles and play with his pinball machines. One of the motorcycles in the collection is a 1915 New Hudson, in all original condition, and it is the only one known to exist! Tomorrow, on day four of this fabulous adventure the gang heads up into the mountains to attend an all day car show. Many cars and "sweeties" we be on site to "preview"!

hi bob, no we (I'm here with one of my "kc boys") didn't ...but that didn't put a damper on the day one bit...at one of the stops yesterday,we did spot a couple of minor items we would have wanted, but would have needed a nut splitter, grinder, or cutting torch...I happened to have none of these in my pocket... every day has had at least one or more stop that my son & I have found to be particularly fascinating to us and was the highlight(s) of the events for that day... we've been having a great time and the weather's been really nice, too... skip & his cadre of tour assistants have really put in a lot of effort and deserve all the credit for the success... epi

It was a great JunkYardDog Tour. Many thanks to Mr and Mrs JunkYardDog for all their efforts. Also to all other 'assistants' for their assistance. PDX Joe and 42 Bill had a great time riding in the back of Bob Lindberg's 55 Pontiac Star Chief convertible. What a sweet car!! Top up or top down, it sure was fun listening to those pipes rumble through all four gears of the hydramatic!! Any word on Bob Heckhaus' condition?? Bill. (Edit: Incidentally JunkYardDog, that Red Chevy hardtop at Ralph's was a 1954, not a '53..... Further, the car I'd love to own is Perry Sneed's 'new' 39 Cadillac. And, he found it in the Nickle Ads; how disgusting!!!)

Thanks a bunch. My Pontiac sat in back garage for 15+ years. Spent the last 9 months redoing almost everything (rear leaf springs still to be done). JunkYardDog rebuilt my starter and generator. Since I got it on the road on 7/27/05 I have driven it about 200 miles.

If Stents are the only thing HDJ needs he should be fine.
I had 2 stents put in my heart after I collapsed in NYC in 1998 (I was 50 at the time.) Ever since everything has been fine. Changed my diet, on medication, do a little more exercise and get various tests every 2 years.
Our thoughts are with him

Yes, best wishes for positive results for HD Joe. MORE HEALTH NEWS.... I spoke with Bob Lindberg on the phone this evening about his 'other' passenger, Bob Heackhaus who became "ill" Saturday afternoon on the mystery junk car collection tour. Apparently Bob is doing "OK." His doctor has told him to "take it easy" until they can do a CAT scan. It's "thought" Bob will likely need a stent or two. If anyone has any additional info or updates on Bob Heckhaus "condition" I'd appreciate hearing it. I'd also appreciate it if JunkYardDog or others would convey "best wishes" to Heckhaus. PDX Joe and I just met him on this JunkYardDog Tour and we both thought he was a good guy. The same was said by others who met him for the first time on this "tour." Bill.

I got home this morning and am feeling the efects of a excellent time had by many, myself included. JunkYardDog please pass my regards and speedy recovery on to Harley Joe and Bob Heckhaus. I thank JunkYardDog and his cohorts for their untold massive efforts in arranging the tour that I enjoyed immensly and dollars permitting will do again. I also thank Sal and Craig for chaufering me for the tour. Craig, I hired a car for the 2 days after the tour and returned it without a scratch, but came very close a couple of times. Every one else I thank also for your part however small it may have been. With any luck I will be arranging at least some of the photos that I took for all to see over the weekend. Dave from Connecticut, sorry for tipping you out as the longest distance from home, no harm meant. Tony

If stents are all that HDJ needs he should be home rather quickly. I had 2 stents put in around 11:30 at night on a Monday and was released the next morning at 8:30. Was back to normal by Friday. Worst part is the incision that is made in the groin. I have had toothaches that caused more pain than the entire procedure.

PDXjoe, I'll have to agree Medicare A&B are much better for us than any PPO or HMO we had when we had a job and regular group insuarance. We choose our own doctors, and along with our Supplemental policy it has covered everything except the meds, the new precription coverage should save us a net of $300/year in our range of $1500 to $1750 per year each. So much for that deal.BARELY WORTH THE SIGNUP! of course it could help those paying up to $5000/year

JunkYardDog Got my roster today but it seems to be short changed, more than 28 took part in the tour or counted nearly every one twice. I thank you and Mrs JunkYardDog for your efforts and kindness. Tony

Here is a photo of all of the Junkyard Puppies that attended the annual Junkyard Dog Adventure this past August. Among which are several Chevy Chatter posters such as; 1931Sal, Antique Mechanic, 1932 Confederate, Chevrolet, TonyW, 42Bill, PDXjoe,Air Force and swk1. Also in the photo are Moron Mikey, the Junkyard Dog, Harley Dude Joe, and many others, including Tony Williamson from Australia (he sent the photo shown below by the way) and Dave Sylvain (1933 Technical Advisor) from Connecticut.
