The dates for the Hershey Swap Meet this year is October 8, 9, 10, 11.

Next year 2004, the dates are Oct 6, 7, 8, 9.

In 2005, the dates are October 5-8.

Anybody notice a trend?

Each year the starting date is 1 or 2 days earlier. Does that mean there will be a different starting day in each week?

Just got my airline tickets today. From Seattle to Philadelphia. Anybody else going to Hershey?? Anything special that I should be looking for?

Last time I found a '31 Viking Radiator cap that I bought for $35 and forwarded to a fellow VCCAer in Calif. What's your poison? \:D

I have attended Hershey every year for the past 27 years except 1993. I enjoy it more than any other meet I attend. It has changed "geographicaly" considerably in the time.

If you have not got a room by now, you have a big problem. We have been staying at a private residence for the last 15 years and were just lucky to find it.

Weather will be anything. Start checking weather on line before you leave to try and get some idea on how to pack. I've been cold, hot, and of course rain. I had my 32 roadster there for its first show and it rained almost every day but from 6AM Saturday to 4PM. It statrted to lighly rain as I was driving off the field.

Go and enjoy it. But be prepaired for bad parking and a lot of walking. 21 miles of vendors.

And where else but at Hershey can you meet with a quarter of a million of your closest friends? The meet is great! I hope to see you all there.

Hey guys,
How about setting a time and place to meet at Hershey? How about Friday at 3:00 PM? I see in the G&D that Ken Farley has some spaces that are a congregation spot for VCCA. He is looking for help to man the space and recruit new members. All those going to Hershey need to help him out.
Maybe we can use his spaces for our meeting? Huh?

Oh ya, the boss found a place to stay. It is in Pennsylvania too! So looks like I will be able to go. See y'all there?

This is my 31st year to be at Hershey....wouldn't miss it for anything!!

There is a farm on the corner of Hershey Park Drive and Rt 39 (right across from the meet) that allows overnight parking, NO hook-ups (grass fields). I think they charged us $90.00 for the week last year. Get there early in the week (Tues. or Wed.) to get a level spot.

I think they also allowed some overnight parking at the new Giant Arena (paved lot). The Giant Arena is on the old Green Field. Don't know how much $$$ they charge.

I will be in the "Blue North" (BN) field this year (don't have space number yet).

Bill, I sent you my "poison" list via the 'person to person' link. Thank you for your very nice offer to look for items at Hershey for me.

My dream is to go to Hershey one day before I'm too old...

Gator... one reply... "You're too late!!!" ;\) \:D

Just kidding.. you're never too old to attend Hershey!! Yes, I've PM'd you back on your "special needs"....

Since I drive in each morning from Norristown, I'll probably visit only twice... either Wed or Thurs and maybe Friday.

I'm going to look up the location of the VCCA booth and I'll stop by there. Is there a special time each day for everyone to meet there??? How about 8am and/or 3pm??

I think I have been going to Hershey for the past 15 years, most of the time on a Thur., I have never gone on a Wed., Is Wed a better day to look for parts, I thougt that most sellers arrived on Wed. to set up for Thus.

Wed is okay, but not great.... only 1/2 of the booths are set up and everyone's busy unpacking... but you can buy then. I did it as an experiment. Thursday is my preferred day.

Although all vendors are not set up on Wednesday, most are. If you want to find hte neat stuff, you have to be early. I have developed a system which works good. My first year come think of it was 1974. Things have really changed. Try it. You'll like it.

I will be vending at Hershey again this year with an interesting mix of parts, accessories, literature, toys, and petroliana. Included will be some very nice NOS Chevrolet accessories (some very rare) available for a range of years, 1930's through 1970's. Maybe you will find the jewel you have been searching for.
