Well I had a conversion done to my AM radio in my 60 Impala last year to make the drive out to Springfield a little easier. Well I got it back two days before left, installed it only to find out I can't get any FM stations above 101.1. The man who did it came highly recomended from a fellow VCCA member and friend. He told me to send it back over the winter, which I did so he could put a new board in it. He did it and i put it in and it only came on to FM once. I called back and he said send it back. The fellow who did the work is nice and I feel he is trying, but is plauqed by bad vendors so I will not say it is his fault yet. From other people I spoke with who had it done said they were not happy with the final product also regardless of who did it. So I would advise people to really think twice before you had over $300+ to someone, I DO NOT SUGGEST HAVING IT DONE!!!!!! Just venting

I have one, but I wanted to get away from it. I had a manual tunning radio, and I figured that when I put the push button in, I would do it right, I was wrong, keep your money!!!! John

An alternative to the costly FM conversion is to put a modern radio behind an original radio face. I installed an electronic Mitsubishi (pardon me) radio in my 50 pickup by welding up a shell, a series of springs, rods and levers to line up a set of new buttons to the Mitsubishi buttons, installed an inverter, and WOW! Now I have amazing sound coming out of the original speaker, pre-programmed stations, seek, scan, and I have fooled judges at car shows! The original radio can be easily replaced if necessary. What more could you ask for?
