Hi Ray, I have what I believe to be a 1937 Chevrolet Radio. It has the matching sticker inside with model number but the case looks slightly different than the one you see in the 1937 car accessory catalog. I have the Chevrolet service information for my radio model and it has schematics for two radio chassis. Mine is the second one. Were there in fact two different (very similar) radios used in 1937 Chevrolet? One old timer is telling me my radio is not from 1937 because it doesn't look like the one in the catalog.
Any chance we could see a picture of your prototype radio? Can I find it in a back issue of G&D?
Thanks! -R

Hi Ray, Thanks, I will definitely check out those issues. In the mean time, here are a couple of shots of the case and sticker. I have re-capped this radio, replaced one IF coil, and installed a new solid-state vibe and it works great. However, it's little more than a conversation piece without the face/dials and the original speaker. My plan is to use it as a 6V solution for my 28 Chevy and remove when the need for originality prevails. Thanks, -R

Thanks for the picture. You already know the model number so the description is a 1937 Chevrolet radio used with the header speaker. It is covered in the G&D article in the Nov 87 issue. And what body style is the 28?

Thanks Ray, The 28 is a coupe. Click on my profile for a good picture. For those that are interested but don't have Nov 87 G&D, I have the article temporarily available online.
