Johnny, did you notice that they didn't have BEER on the truck, just Yeast and Malt syrup, when did Prohibition end? I guess that is what A. B. did when they couldn't make beer legally! \:\(

GUESS THE YEARS??
The first looks like a 32 Sedan Delivery with coach lights.
The second might be an early 42 cuz the 41 had Chrome bumper and late 42 had painted grille. Could be 46 also.
#3 would be 51 - 53 cuz of wind wing.
What do you experts say??
I'd like to see some Labats trux with Chev chassis. Any photos available?

When scanning Black & White photos that are dot matrix, the scanner also uses dot matrix. If it isn't perfectly aligned, the image has lines or plaid checkerboard. Cure: Scan at very high resolution and reduce image size in photo program. Color photos are painted solid so no such problem.

Johnny, couldn't find that book from motorbooks. Must be out of print or something, even tried their seach using name and author. Since photo #3 seems to be in question, is the pic in the book big and clear enough to see some better detail? For example, is the gas fill neck in the cab or through the bottom of the service body? Couldn't quite tell for sure with the enlarged pics. What does the side hood emblem read? Just Chevrolet or with something else? From looking at the front wheel, I was able to determine its a 2 ton and not a 1.5 ton. Happy trucking!

You might try to solicit sponsorship from Anheuser-Busch for your truck. I'm sure a vintage COE with their logo on the side would draw a bit of advertising for them. If you got a tanker body, think of the possibilities!
Thanx for info.

Never thought of that Lou. A street party with a 500 gallon keg would make you the most popular man in town! Now to get A-B to sponsor such an event.

Whether it is a beer truck or not it is good to see the number of trucks being cared for. I am working on a 38 1/2 ton Chev down here in Aus. What started out as a street rod idea has mellowed over the last 24 years, (wife got in the way for 19 years) to a restoration project. I must admit to a few mods, replacing timber door frames with steel and possibly 6volt electrics becoming 12 volt.
