I guess I should be posting under this heading since most of my trucks are actually commercial vehicles. I do have a couple of pickups, don't think I have ever mentioned them. I have a '51 Chevy 1\2 ton, that I have had since I was 12 yrs. old,and a '66 Chevy long bed fleetside 11,000 act. miles. I get kind of carried away with my Coe's & completely forget about my other vehicles. I also own a low milage '66 Chevelle SuperSport, & a '63 Impala SuperSport that my grandparents bought new. I sold a '57 Chevy 2dr. hrdtp. that I hadn't driven since 1982 last year.

Spanky, I don't really know why the trucks forum is divided up this way, To me if it ain't a car, a bus or a Motor home, or a bike and it runs down the road more than likely it is a TRUCK. So I guess busses, and motor homes would fit into Commercial vehicles? This may be why the place looks so desolute, maybe it is spread out too much, what do you think?

I don't know why that won't work, but there seem to be quite a few VCCA guys into Chevy firetrucks. not too many that I know that are into stock COEs I see a lot that are highly modified to be car haulers, like with El Dorado and Tornado drive lines and low ,low beds. I guess if you start a thread let it run, see what comes up, The way I feel is if you don't like what goes on there, just don't l@@k at it!

Hey guys ! The stock COE MAN is here, in good ole North Carolina. Wouldn't have them any other way. That COE truck Ric Hall built named Mr. Shorty was pretty COOL though.

Well COE trucks are trucks so why not just put in a topic Cab over Engines in the Truck forum and get after it? when anyone posts to it it will come up in the current topics page.

OK JunkYardDog since it has come up, how do you tell the difference betwen trucks and commercial vehicles? The only difference I know of is in their registration, a truck can either be a private vehicle (not for hire ) or a commercial vehicle that is used for commrcial purposes (a vehicle for hire) A bus can be a commercial vehicle but not a truck, a truck can be a commercial vehicle but it can't be a bus (a motor coach) In Texas a truck can be anything from a Masda pickup or a Geo Tracker, a surburban or Tahoe up to a huge Autocar Heavy duty wrecker or a huge winch truck (oil rig mover), but to be registered as a truck it has to be highway capable (Dot inspection), not like an o Euclid or Cat offroad pit truck etc, which are registered as Machinery.

Oh! JunkYardDog I wore out the page looking for Johnnys post of January 19, It was JUNE 19.. I ain't the one making things complicated, I thought the forum TRUCKS would cover all trucks, I guess if some other guys wanted another forum so that they could moderate one, they can have the Trucks if they like. I just took it because no one else would at the time, it don't pay all that good anyway!

I did, but it seems that some folks do not realize that "commercial vehicles " means something else at different places and states, In texas a Truck is a truck, whether it is private or commercial,

HEY! Junkyard Dog, On the( Old G.M. COE post ) you stated your '51 COE had a 179in. wheelbase. Has it been modified to that length, All the Chevies came standard with 3 wheelbases (110,134, & 158). GMC's came standard with (110,122,137,161,179,& 197in.) wheelbases. Was yours a special order. One of my GMC's has a odd wheelbase, it was a special order. Are there any pictures of your trucks out here in Web land, I'd love to see them.

WHUTZUP! M.T., The only parts I can think of needing right off ,are the early chrome cab grab handles & the 5400(53-54 style) hood side emblems. And of course, the item every G.M. COE owner could use, those ever popular fender scuff pads. Sure wish I could get that NOS scuff pad the guy in Virginia has. He knows what he has ,he would probably want a small fortune for it. Mothertrucker I have decided to install Fulton Visors on the '52 GMC & the '53 Chevy Holmes Wrecker, what do you think. Spanky Hardy.....Collector Of Fine Old G.M. COE Trucks.

Hey JunkYardDog! Maybe Ralston - Purina will throw in a Dog Chow Digital Camera if you buy enough Dog Chow! Do you use your Big COE to haul the bulldozer on?

It had copies of the TF LCF Specs. and some pictures of my trucks. I tried to e-mail you...still not working yet? Mike Boteler collector of BIG '55 - '57 TF Trucks!

Yea Mike, I recieved the package, & really enjoyed it, thanks alot, that 9200 is awesome. The '46 COE wrecker, whats the status on it. Are you going to be able to get parts from it,or would you have to buy the whole truck. I'm still looking for parts for the Holmes W45 I have, I'd even buy another whole truck if complete. So keep me informed if you should happen to run across anything. There was a guy on the Stovebolt Page that was looking for a wrecker body for a 47-53 GMC, were you going to sell the 525 you took off of the IHC. I still can't send or recieve email, but I do check for private messages on this web site & on the Stovebolt site daily. Catch ya later. Spanky Hardy.........Collector Of Fine Old G.M. how about like the shop manuals (Light duty) 1500 to 3500 and (Medium duty) 4000 to 7000 and (Heavy duty )8000 up? I may be wrong on the series in each catagory , but you get my drift, right?
