You guys forget the wind up tattletale clock on the dash with the little wiggling needle that recorded when the truck was moving and when a door was slammed etc.? then the "High Tech" ones that had a speed line where you could lay a cigarette between the door glass and the needle and the speed would not go over 55 MPH, and the miles counter that went up every five miles then down the next five miles and so on and so on? and the spinner knob with the Vargus girl's picture under the clear plastic knob? abd the blue tinted sunscreen or the electric defroster that attached with vacuum cups, and the small fan blowing inyour face with the gray rubber blades? Also the piece of broomhandle with the notch to hold the footfeed to the floor (Kansas Cruise control?)
Ya!

This wasn't on the dash but how about the 5" piece of broom handle attached to a short piece of chain on the big old air horn's valve.

Dad's 28 what would a truck be without a name? just a hunk of metal, glass and rubber. Ours are Tahoebelle, a 2001 Tahoe, Old blu' a 95 1/2 ton, Biggn'a long bed 3/4 ton extended cab, and the peanut truck,a 57 Chevy C6500 is Gobberbelle,

Suicide knob, vacuum column mount defroster fan, compass, traffic light viewer [ for outside sunvisor equipped trucks ], door pocket to store log books, Sig Stat mechanical directional arm, rear view mirror arms that are 3 feet long & vibrate so bad the mirrors are useless, dont forget the 2 speed axle splitter switch, running board step plates with a sandpaper coating to prevent ya from ending up on your butt when it rains.

Of course running boards, when I was a kid (1930s) we used to pass trucks on a pass out side of Billings Montana, during the summer the driver would be standing on the running board with one arm inside the cab steering probably had a throttle cable to the carb or the previously mentioned stick to hold the throttle to the floor.

We must not forget about the old 45 RPM record players that were mounted under the dash either! They were cool little units....and fairly cheap back then. Now, a new old stock unit on eBay will go for about $800 big ones! Ouch! \:D \:D
