Kipper Sarne, did you by chance mean a REO? I have seen a REO firetruck of that era.
Anyone wish to inform Mr K.S. the origin of REO ?

REO trucks of the late '20s were larger and heavier
than the '27 pictured. REO is an acronym for
Ransom E. Olds of Oldsmobile fame. I'm familiar
with a '28 REO Speedwagon. It has 4 wheel hydraulic
brakes, an L-head engine to illustrate some differences....There's no connection to Chevrolet that I know of...REO CARS disappeared during the depression of the '30s.

In addition REO built some 6x6 trucks for the armed forces, probably up thru 1967

For those of you interested in Chevy Fire Trucks I noticed in a Hallmark store advertising mailing that they have a 1938 Chevy Fire Truck Christmas ornament for sale this year. Listed at $18.95. Our Hallmark stores here discount the ornament prices after Christmas (usually half price) but you never know what they may have left and the day after Christmas you may have to fight the return crowds. Thought maybe a few of you guys might be interested in this.....Bill

Several years back they also had an older 4 cyl. model fire truck ornament. This was the result of a VCCA member (with a fire truck) being employed at Hallmark in K.C.-he has since retired from Hallmark but still very active in the VCCA.

This ornament is an 85 horsepower, inline six cylinder. Siren sounds and wheels turn, die cast metal, battery operated, batteries included according to the ad. It also mentions that it is the third in the "Fire Brigade" series. I don't know what the first two were. Their series adds one new one each year....Bill

The first two were a 1929 Chevrolet and a 1950 American LaFrance.
