"The pickup box was not supplied by Chevrolet during 1930. Several body builders offered pickup boxes for the Roadster Delivery. The most popular suppliers of these boxes were: Anthony of Sttreator, Ill. Hercules of Evansville, Ind,. and Gar Wood of Detroit".
"A complete line of Chevrolet built commercial bodies was FIRST OFFERED in 1931. In late 1930 Chevrolet purchased the old Martin Parry body plant in Indianapolis. During 1931, a pickup box, both panel and canopy express bodies for the 1/2 ton and 131" 1 1/2 ton chassis were offered".
"The truck line remained almost unchanged (for 1930), but one new model was added to the 1/2 ton line, now called the Series AD. This was the Roadster Delivery.................. Chevrolet did not build the pickup bed. These were produced by several independent manufacturers".
"In the truck line, some major events took place (in 1931), the most important of which was the purchase by Chevrolet in LATE 1930 of the Martin-Parry Co. of Indianapolis. This company had been a major supplier of bodies for Chevrolet trucks for years, and its acquisition now allowed Chevrolet to offer standard production bodies in its truck line as well as just chassis and cabs. Among the new standard bodies offered were a pickup, panel and canopy deliveries in the 1/2 ton range, and stake and express bodies in the 1 1/2 ton line".
