can anyone tell me what we may be missing on the bed underside of our '40 kc 1/2 ton where the spare tire is to be carried?.. we have what appears to be a track which is mounted to the underside...looks like we'd need a carrier that would bolt to the spare and slide up on the track and something that would keep it from sliding off?.. what are we looking for and where might we find them?.. epi

I don't see the photo help section yet... Bill probably thinks it's too complicated.
It wouldn't matter if the instructions were written in latin, the same number of people would read it (zilch, nada, zero, null).
I have a really simple photo posting method I'm testing on my computer. You just click a link, select the file you want to post from a directory window, then hit a submit button. The code does the rest. It works, but requires server space, is not secured, and needs error checking and an automatic re-sizing routine for pics that are too big. I've run low on time to work on it in the last few weeks, but I'll get back to it eventually.

Well Kepi, looks like we are in the same boat regarding the spare tire carrier: the one I was thinking of belongs to my '31, and is obviously not the same. It still seems like I saw this part laying around, but I can't find it anywhere today. Chev Nut, the retainer at the center you refer to: is it a circular disk that indexes into the center of the wheel hub? Seems like the part I'm thinking of had this feature.
